Access to Tory Island is by the official passenger boat, the Tory Ferry - The Queen of Aran from Magheraroarty Pier (Harbour) - the big blue boat bearthed at the end of the harbour

The harbour at Magheroarty is accessed on the R257. Take the R257 road at the junction on the N56 (heading northwest from Letterkenny, or northeast from Dunloe direction), just outside Gortahork, The harbour is 3Km from this junction just after Gortahork when coming from Letterkenny direction, just before Gortahork when heading from the Dunloe/Gweedore direction.
Free public parking is available at Magheroarty harbour
We recommend arriving 30 minutes ahead of the scheduled departure time - the ferry will depart on the minute, so also allow 5 to 10minutes to walk the length of the harbour to the ferry.
